It is apparent to most market participants that the current sharp sell-off in corn futures is occurring because the number of sellers temporarily outnumbers the number of buyers. Additionally, those same market participants presumably recognize that the current sell-off will soon attract strong buying interest from the likes of China, ethanol facilities, livestock and poultry producers. (from USGC:www.grains.org)

 USDA updated its forecasts Monday morning and reduced the average U.S. corn yield estimate by 5 bushels per acre, from 153 bushels down to 148.1 bushels.
